Melbourne 365: Day 52

The next night we are out again – loving these adventures amongst the bright lights of an unfamiliar part of town. This night we find a vantage point and briefly watch the ups and downs, the people who take it slow and enjoy being carried along like logs in the tide; the others, who don’t want to wait and would prefer to push against the flow, climbing with just a little push to spur them on. I think about hamsters in wheels, mice scurrying, but neither really seems quite right – this is a different kind of movement altogether. It’s directed, purposeful, with just a hint of meandering to keep us happy as passers-by…
