365 Project: Day 215

Day 215

Day 215. Walking past this wall, in an alleyway near my parents’ house, got me thinking. They were only ideas, so they didn’t quite connect, but there was something there about beginning to see buildings as a kind of palimpsest, which was a little new for me… do we really build new buildings, or do we perch them on the bones of the ones that went before? And when we do, do we just forget what was there before? I kind of liked being able to see the bones here…

Day 156

Day 156. Something about the layers drew me to this image… and also something about the white lines of string from the kites, and the white lines from the plane… a neat image perhaps, but not sure what it is trying to tell us. Perhaps it is wishing my dad a happy birthday? Telling him to keep looking up? Happy birthday dad!

Day 148

Day 148. Ever get a feeling, like you are being… watched?
(This was taken at the Devonport Kite Festival today… the many many kites floating, ducking, and weaving on the breeze were really quite a sight… especially when the giant penguins got airborne! Saw this one go up from a distance, and knew it was the photo I wanted to take…)

365 Project: Day 74

Bluff-lighthouse-IR

Day 74. Another lighthouse day! Another infrared day! Maybe I need some new ideas!

[I think I’ve said it all above! This is indeed another shot of the lighthouse from Day 65 & 67, but this time in infrared. I was talking to Sharon about IR the other day, suggesting that I’m starting to get a better idea about how it might work, and that I think it works best in situations where you have strong objects, and good skies. Like lighthouses, perhaps. This was the OM-D, and from memory, the 25mm f/1.4. Either that or the 14mm f/2.5. Pretty sure it was the former. I could check the EXIF of course, but not just now. :)]

Lighthouse-sky-OM-D

Day 67. Not sure why I start every day with the repetition of the heading. Might have to think about that one.

[This is the other side of the lighthouse from Day 65, complete with sun dog just off the top of the frame. I like the colours in this one! Of course, with all of this colour, tomorrow will have to be IR…]
