Day 354. It just seems like it should be time for a quiet pause; a moment of reflection. This is what that looks like to me…
Day 174. It’s a very special day today… happy birthday Sharon! You are more excellent every year. I thought this looked a bit like an ‘S’, just for you…
Don’t worry, I got you another present too!
Day 170. A different kind of forest today; this one all warmth, sunshine, sounds of children playing, gentle breeze swaying the heavy branches at the first breath of Autumn. This too will change, but for now, I enjoy the light and the green and the everything.
(All done in camera, using the wonders of the Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic… a remarkably accurate representation of how the world looks to me when I take my glasses off!)
Day 125… shot pretty much the same time and place as yesterday’s effort… not sure what it is a photo of, but also not sure if that bothers me. 🙂 Let me know what you think, if you feel like it!
Day 108! And for those of you following the same calendar as me, happy new year. Hey, that means I’ve been doing this blog, and this project, since LAST YEAR! Plenty more to come too; we aren’t even a third of the way through yet. Already I feel like I have learned so much… looking forward to the rest of the journey. Of course, as it’s a new year, that means it’s time to think about how things are going, and decide whether it’s time to turn over a new leaf – get it?? … sorry, couldn’t resist.
[Something different! OM-D, Lensbaby Composer, Soft Focus optic, macro extender.]
Day 96, whereupon we see the concluding stage in the life of our Nigella, this time rendered in tones rather than colours, belying the rather gorgeous blue in favour of the textures of the leaves.
[OM-D, Lensbaby composer, Soft Focus Optic, with a macro extender. Just in case you are interested… processed in LR4, and Silver Efex Pro 2.]
Day 89, and we return today to the spiky blue flower things… which I now know are called Nigella, or rather more enticingly, love in the mist! Thanks to Lynn, aka Bluebrightly for the info! 🙂 Today this one is blue, and more mature, and awesome in a whole different way to what we saw back on Day 86…
[Although it looks quite different, this was actually shot with the same OM-D, Lensbaby Soft Focus Optic combo… These really are extraordinary flowers if you ask me!]
Day 86. A day to observe the everyday things that surround you. This is an everyday thing that I’ve walked past with the puppies many times… today I went back.
[Hello world. Meet Mr. Spiky Blue Crazy Plant. Not that you can see the blue here… that’s for another day. We are still exploring white space!! This was the Lensbaby Soft Focus optic, on the OM-D this time, with one of the macro extenders. I forget which one. All taken while the smallest, cutest, most indignant little dog barked its cute little head off at me through the fence. Joy!]
Day 80. We are done with the 70s – onwards and upwards!
[This is a happy, colourful ending to the somewhat more happy and colourful last set of ten. Really, what can I say about this one? It’s a colourful accident, essentially – a Lensbaby with the Soft Focus optic and the macro extenders, shot without an aperture disc inserted so that everything is soft and colourful and washy… there’s something about it that I like, though… is it the warmth? The flower at the bottom of the frame, that seems to be deliberately tilting its face up to the light, to bask in the glow, the warmth? Maybe!
I spent quite a long time deciding whether to put this up as my photo for the day, or not… in the end, I decided that self-censorship shouldn’t be the game in this blog… I like it, so I’ll post it. I can figure out later whether I was right to like it or not! As always, your thoughts and responses, positive or otherwise, are very welcome!]
Day 54 and a somewhat darker take on a photo for this evening…
[Taken at a fork in the road behind Burnie… there’s a stand of trees here that I’ve been trying to capture for a couple of years… still not there but I’m getting closer perhaps… this taken after dark, ISO3200, grainy, blurry, all the rest. By now I’m sure you know the likely combo used for the shot, but if not and you are interested, please do feel free to ask or indeed guess!]
