20/20 Project: Day 15, Tasmania
Day 15. Tasmania.
Beauty exists on every scale here; from the unique stripes on a leaf, standing out in a sea of green, through to the play of light bursting through clouds and selecting just the right spot to warm. And I’m leaving it behind – for what kind of beauty? I don’t know. Yet. But I’m convinced that every place has its magic – we just need to learn to see it. That learning starts next week.

Day 9. Tasmania.
Sometimes, he looks out the window and it is clear; so clear, he can see beyond the town, beyond the green hills, beyond the deep dark sea, to the next island, and the next island, and the next, and the next. Other times, he looks out the window and all he can see is fog, haze, cloud, a vaseline smoothness glossing details. Then, he has to look inside to really see. And it’s on those days that he can see the furthest…

Day 282. This year’s most super moon of all… rising through the slightly smoky layer, as viewed from Table Cape. Those of you familiar with the NW coast of Tasmania might take note of the small ship at the bottom right of the frame – yes, that’s the Toll ship on the way out. Really gives a sense of scale doesn’t it??

Day 280. That moment when the sun finally sets, leaving behind just a glow, no more warmth, no more light… Not quite an aurora, and certainly not that green flash when it sets over water, but powerful and moving to see nonetheless…
