Places I’d rather be part 3…
waterfall
184.
Water study #1 – underneath the falls at Paddy’s River Falls, near Tumbarumba. Water seems to fall like rain and rise like smoke, all at the same time…
365 Project: Day 364
Day 364. Tomorrow it’s all over, and it just wouldn’t seem right to not share one more Tassie shot so close to the end. So, back to Redwater Creek Falls, perched on the very edge of a rock, watching the water flow down, around, and continue on its way, frothing and churning as it goes. It’s my favourite soundtrack…
365 Project: Day 352
Day 352. Because sometimes in the chaos, if you look at the movement and the noise for long enough, you see the pattern, and the stillness… be still.
365 Project: Day 349
Day 349. Look closely, and you’ll see them – millions of tiny pieces. Every single one, added together, to make this roaring, crashing, writhing presence…
365 Project: Day 346
Day 346. This is the first cascade at a lovely little set of falls, called Redwater Creek Falls. It’s actually really easy to get to, if you know where to go. I didn’t, apparently…
365 Project: Day 345
Day 345. Guide Falls – always an interesting place, with the hexagonal rocks and the various farm and forest detritus that flows down the river…
365 Project: Day 299
365 Project: Day 283
Day 283… the quite intriguing and wonderfully-named Secret Falls. I could tell you where it is, but then it wouldn’t be a secret now, would it? (Well, okay, a small hint – it’s on Mount Wellington, above Hobart… and this water runs straight down into the brewery!)
365 Project: Day 274
Day 274… Bridal Veil Falls again, this time from the more conventional view (i.e. in front, rather than behind!). A beautiful walk through the forest, alongside Bull Creek, leads you here. The old bridge (just a large log over the gap really) is still visible, just downstream from where the boulder that knocked it out of place now sits. Sharon and I wonder how long until that rather large log at the top of the falls does the same to the new bridge… nature has a way of reminding us who is really in charge sometimes!
